Robert Karlsson was born and grew up just outside the city of Markaryd (Sweden), the countryside of Småland, where he is still living.

He is a trained concert guitarist and has studied at Örebro University under Peder Riis and Peter Berlind Carlsson. Besides studying guitar, he also studied composition and pedagogy.

Then he studied classical guitar at the Malmö Academy of Music under Göran Söllscher and Gunnar Spjuth.
In addition to his regular studies, he participated in master class instructions for a large number of guitarists, including Oscar Ghiglia.

Upon completion of degree 2006, Robert received a soloistprize at an international convention in Malmö, the peice he played was in memory of Per-Olof Johnson. That same year he was awarded the years cultural prize of KCM.

Robert Karlsson has appeared on radio and television. He has even given concerts in exotic places such as the Arabian Pennisula and played and performed throughout Europe and USA as both soloist and chamber musician.
